The Art of Science

In 2009, my mother (a high school chemistry teacher) and I opened our Etsy shop. She was the science and I was the art. We developed a method of spelling out names using elements from the Periodic Table and streamlined a process of making the tiles with the elements printed on them.

We were named Etsy Seller of the Month, featured in several magazines and online sources, and sold our items in science museums across the world. We were also commissioned by Rockpoint Publishing to write and design 3 gift books. We traveled the country selling our items at science conferences and we also acquired several wholesale partnerships.

In order to keep up with the demand, we evolved our processes and utilized new technologies and learned new skills to create fresh products. I am skilled in screenprinting, dye sublimation, silversmithing, surface pattern design, tradeshow booth design, and graphic design.

Periodic Table Name Designs

We created a variety of fun items like keychains, ornaments, nameplates, and printable art for customers to display their love of science with custom periodic table name designs.

Clothing Designs

These are a selection of screen printing designs we created. We worked with a high school's screen printing class to have the designs mass produced by the students!

Planetary Objects & Silversmithing

We crafted a necklace made out of the eight planets + the sun from our solar system using images from NASA. It was featured by ThinkGeek.com and it took off! After I became trained in silversmithing, we eventually retooled the necklace using custom resin-protected planet tiles and set in sterling silver bezels. We also traveled to Quartzsite, AZ for their annual rock and mineral show to hunt for stones that resembled planetary objects, showcasing them in sterling silver.

Let's Talk

We must recognize and nurture the creative parts of each other without always understanding
what will be created.
